Noah Sanger in front of Ladder 7Fire Station 7 opened its doors Friday to another amazing “Wish Kid” to help kick off the annual Fire On Ice hockey tournament hosted by Fire Fighters Local 311 and the Madison Fire Hockey Club.

Seven-year-old Noah Sanger was selected by the Make-A-Wish Foundation to enjoy a special firehouse meal, hang out with the crews, and check out the fire trucks at Station 7. Noah was joined by his parents, his younger brother Charlie, and his grandparents.

Noah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and is two years into his approximately three-year journey to beat ALL.

When asked what his favorite food is, he had three in mind: Cheese quesadillas, French fries, and caramel apples. Station 7 made it happen, serving up Noah’s favorites and then some, including a homemade chocolate layer cake adorned with a hockey player cutout and a mini Oreo cookie as a hockey puck.

Noah is a big hockey fan himself and offered up some pointers for the Madison Fire hockey team in an interview with WKOW-TV. Lieutenant Matt Thomas presented Noah his very own jersey, hockey stick, and fire helmet on behalf of Fire Fighters Local 311 before sending him off to the Madison Ice Arena to take part in the opening ceremonies of the Fire On Ice hockey tournament.
