Where are you stationed?
I’m at Fire Station 2 (Grand Canyon Blvd.) on the B shift.

Why did you want to pursue this career?
I pursued this career because I found it to be one of the fields where a person can truly make a difference in the life of someone else. It is an opportunity to make the world a better place and to give back to the community.

Why did you want to work in Madison, for the Madison Fire Department?
The Madison Fire Department has a reputation of being very progressive and professional. Madison is a very unique city with a lot to offer.

What has been the most rewarding part of your experience so far?
The most rewarding experiences so far have come from helping people in their time of need and trying to make their day a little bit better.

Since graduating the Academy, what are among the most memorable experiences you've had?
The best experiences so far have been meeting the great people that work here at the Madison Fire Department. I have found that there is something to learn from everyone here and they are always willing to answer any of my questions.

Looking back at the Fire Academy, what was the most challenging element?
I think that the most challenging part of the academy was the mental aspect. It was pushing yourself a little further and a little harder when you thought you had nothing left. It was about doing whatever it takes to get the job done.

What advice would you give to someone hoping to join the MFD?
I would say to never give up. If becoming a firefighter is your dream, then keep pursuing it because it will be worth the effort.
