Engine 10A new engine went into service at Fire Station 10 on December 18!

This apparatus, manufactured by Appleton-based Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., is one of two new rigs to enter our fleet. Fire Station 8, located on Madison's east side, also received a new engine last week.

Old Engine 10, a 2009 Pierce Engine, will remain in our fleet as a reserve apparatus when other front-line rigs need to be temporarily placed out of service for maintenance and other repairs.

The MFD has twelve front-line fire engines, including Engine 14, which will go into service on Thursday, December 27. There are also five front-line ladder trucks, and eight front-line ambulances.

The City of Madison Fleet Services Division is in the process of selling two 13-year-old fire engines as these new engines come into service.
