Recruit Classes 10 and 11 on stageThe Madison Fire Department welcomed a new class of firefighters into its ranks at the first in-person graduation ceremony since the COVID-19 pandemic. Joining Recruit Class 11 were the two firefighters from Recruit Class 10, who graduated their Academy last year but did not get to celebrate their accomplishments at a traditional graduation ceremony due to the pandemic.

For the first time, the Garver Feed Mill was our host for the event. Friends, family, current and retired MFD personnel gathered to celebrate the classes’ achievements. They were joined by Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, State Apprenticeship Director Joshua Johnson, and Madison Police and Fire Commission President Mary Schauf.

Meet the MFD’s newest firefighters, and view pictures from the ceremony on Facebook and Instagram.
