Firefighter/EMT Aubrey De ForestWhere are you stationed?
I am stationed at Fire Station 14 (Dairy Drive) on the 'A' shift.

What attracted you to this career?
I got my EMT-Basic certification during my senior year of high school, and once I started working in the field I wanted to continue with it as my career. I like that each day on the job is different.

What were you doing prior to joining MFD?
Prior to working at MFD, I was a paramedic in the Sauk County area.

What was your first day in the station like? Did you catch any memorable calls on Day 1?
My first day in the station was mostly spent meeting my crew and going over expectations and what my role would be on different types of calls. I believe my first call came in as a possible cardiac arrest, but it turned out to be an intoxicated individual.

Medical responses are an important part of the service we provide. What have been the most rewarding aspects of these calls?
It is rewarding to see a positive change in a patient’s condition after providing treatment.
