Abe Ruiz with certificate of achievement
This week we said goodbye to Abe Ruiz, who graduated from the Wanda Fullmore summer internship program Monday.

Abe was with us for several weeks learning about the different facets of the fire department, from the fire stations, special teams, and physical fitness, to helping out at Friday Nights At the Y, CampHERO, and Firefighter Fun Day. He also learned CPR!

Abe will be entering the 11th grade at LaFollette High School in Madison. A straight-A student, he enjoys playing football and basketball. We wish him the best of luck in the school year and beyond!

The Madison Fire Department has been involved in the Wanda Fullmore Internship program for three years.

More information about the program is available at the CommonWealth Development website.
