AE Ethan DadeEight new Apparatus Engineers (AEs) were recently promoted and assigned to a station near you! Get to know them on the MFD Blog.

Where are you stationed?
Firehouse 10 (Northport & Troy Drive) on the C shift

What was your previous assignment?
I was assigned to Firehouse 8 (Lien Rd.) on the C shift as a Firefighter/Paramedic.

How long have you served with MFD?
My date of hire was April 7th, 2007.

What do you like about your station and territory?
I think Station 10’s territory on the north side offers a very diverse area for types of calls, occupancy, and population. I think this allows for some new challenges and learning a new territory.

I came from Station 8, previously with a larger crew: Ladder, Engine, and Medic unit. I like having an Engine company and Medic unit now. It allows for a smaller and different crew dynamic.

I have a great new crew that loves to engage in our career and the community we serve.

What do you do when you’re not working at MFD?
On my days off, my soon-to-be wife (Kari) and I like to be outdoors. We have two labs that keep us on our toes! I enjoy hunting, camping, and playing softball, golf, or football on my days off.

Anything else you'd like to share?
This is a great career with many opportunities to learn and better serve the area. MFD is an outstanding department of professional and talented individuals who strive to do good for the community 24/7/365.
