AE Cole Christenson Where are you stationed?
I'm at Station 6 (W. Badger Rd.) on the B shift.

How long have you been with the MFD?
I was hired on September 22, 2008.

Where have you served previously?
I started my career at Engine 10 on the north side. I then moved west to Station 7, and now I've been lucky enough to have been stationed at Ladder 6 on Madison’s south side for 5 years.

My first assignment was Station 10, but my introduction and first memories of the Fire Department were when I was a young kid coming into Station 1 and visiting my father and all the great guys that worked there with him. Today, it’s pretty awesome sitting next to and driving the truck for those who always welcomed you like family with open arms.

What do you like about your station and territory?
Ladder 6 is a great house to be in, and a great house to be an Apparatus Engineer at. We get a wide variety of calls, from Beltline accidents and extrications to downtown fires, making no two days the same.

What do you do when you're not working at MFD?
When I’m away from the firehouse I spend a lot of time with family and friends. I like to spend as much time as possible on the local lakes, on the golf course, hunting, fishing, and enjoying all the great local spots that make Madison such a great city.
