Hey, Madison! Did you know Saturday, October 24th is the first ever Vote Early Day?

Vote Early Day is a non-partisan movement to make sure Americans know their options to vote early ahead of Election Day. You never know what could happen on Election Day. Last minute problems can pop up out of nowhere and make participating in any election a challenge.

Unlike other election years, due to the coronavirus pandemic, voting early has grown into a season to help ensure community safety as an enhancement to the democratic process. Knowing all the ways you can vote is a first step to exercising your right to vote.Our Madison Clerk’s office exists to assist in making voting options accessible and equitable for all Madison residents. Here are all the ways they are facilitating the right to vote and where to get more information:

1. In-Person Absentee Voting – whether you walk up or drive up to one of our many early voting sites between now and November 1st, check the Clerk’s Office In-Person Absentee Voting page daily for any updates on any sites changes, hours, and inclement weather options.

2. Ballot Drop Box – if you already made your request for an absentee ballot, you can drop off your completed ballot (including witness signature) at one of our fourteen Ballot Drop Boxes located primarily at Fire Stations across the city. Check the Clerk’s Office Ballot Drop-Off Sites page for exact locations. You can also drop off your absentee ballot at any of the In-Person Absentee Voting locations or at your polling place on Election Day.

3. Mail in Absentee - if you already made your request for an absentee ballot, you can send your completed ballot (including witness signature) back to the Clerk’s Office by putting it in the mail.

4. In-Person Voting on Election – a failsafe way to vote is turning out at your own polling place on November 3rd between 7:00AM and 8:00PM.
