The City of Madison celebrated its first #TeamCity Awards Ceremony of 2021 on Thursday January 21st! A fledgling tradition, this City-wide celebration shines light on the staff that got us through one of the most challenging years that our world, and of course City, has ever seen.

#TeamCity awards is an opportunity for us to recognize our outstanding public servants. This year’s celebrations was extra special because this award ceremony featured not just individuals as is usual, but also kicked off team awards as well as recognition of all City employees with at least 35 years of service.

The #TeamCity Awards program was launched one year ago, and occurs on a bimonthly basis. The employees awarded this year come from across the City and many different walks of life but every one of them go above and beyond the call of duty every day. For their exemplary service, their peers and even City residents have recognized them with thoughtful nominations.

The celebration, while virtual this year, brought together staff at every level of the organization to celebrate the recipients, all of whom will receive a framed certificate and special #TeamCity award magnet or years-of-service pin.

The list of awardees was long, as it was well deserved, and residents are able to watch the recorded program to get a glimpse into the amazing team of people that make this City tick like clockwork every day. It’s great to kick of the year celebrating our employees.
