7350 is a John Deere 644X-Tier mid-size wheel loader assigned to Streets. It is the one and only vehicle of this type in the Fleet and has already been used for 2,039 engine hours under Troy Clifcorn’s supervision since we put it into service in October 2021. Over the given period, it consumed a total of 4,811.98 gallons of diesel and produced approximately 48.989 metric tons of CO2 emissions. Troy reported that it works well in cold weather conditions with less maintenance and fuel. Less fuel means less CO2 emissions emitted by the operation, a lower monthly fuel bill, and cleaner air quality for our community. Operating Assistant Kenneth Granger drives this loader for moving materials, loading mulch, snow removal, and plowing 7 to 8 hours a day. He loves the instant response of the vehicle and its fuel efficiency. The loader is equipped with hybrid technology for heavy duty jobs. This technology integrates an electric motor with a traditional internal combustion engine for fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. In a hybrid loader, the electric motor assists the engine during heavy lifting, and serves as a generator to recharge the vehicle’s batteries.
