The average Madison homeowner uses 3,871 gallons of water a month and pays $19.09 in water charges. Ever wonder where that money goes? Here's a three-minute look at what your water dollar pays for...
Madison Water Utility is a nonprofit, municipally-owned utility. MWU's water and fire protection charges make up about 35 percent of the total Madison Municipal Services Bill. The bill also includes sewer, stormwater, landfill and urban forestry fees, which are levied by other agencies.
