The Facilities Section maintains over 40 building for various City agencies including Fire, Police, Fleet Maintenance, Streets, and Parking Utility. Throughout these buildings over 2600 pieces of equipment are on preventative maintenance schedules. Each class of equipment has a unique schedule with specific tasks to ensure that the equipment continues to operate reliably and efficiently.

Preventative maintenance tasks range from simple filter replacements to complex combustion analyses that ensure heating equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Preventative maintenance schedules help extend the equipment’s operating life and reduce the likelihood of equipment failure. Building occupants are better able to focus on their tasks when the equipment serving their buildings is working as intended.
