PV Growth

The City of Madison has installed over 20 solar electric (PV) systems throughout the City since 2008, ranging in size from 2.36 to 360 kW.

As of 2020, the cumulative installed capacity exceeds 1 Mega-Watt of capacity, which generates over 1,000,000 Kilo-Watts of electricity per year.  This offsets a significant amount of electricity use from City operations.

Our goal is to continue to install systems on City facilities each year and approach 10 Mega-Watts of capacity by 2030.
