Water Utility

The Public Service Commission requires water meter changes in accordance with WI administrative Code 185.76.

• Most often, residential appointments take up to 60 minutes and water is off at the property for up to 15 minutes during the appointment.
• Scheduled appointment times will be Monday through Friday, between 7:30am – 1:30pm.
• A person 18 years of age or older will need to be at the property to allow us access to the water metering equipment inside your home. Water metering equipment is usually located in your basement or a lower level, near a utility/mechanical room or area.
• There is no charge for this appointment.

All utility personnel will have a Madison Water Utility issued ID and will be driving a Madison Water Utility vehicle.
