The City of Madison’s oil spill prevention program includes Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for all City-managed facilities with aboveground oil storage greater than 1,320 gallons. The SPCC Plans outline proper oil storage, spill prevention, facility inspections, tank testing, and emergency response to control and clean up an oil release.

Under the EPA’s SPCC rule, all oil-handling personnel shall receive at least annual training to properly respond to spills in their work areas. Department heads determine who requires the annual training. The below presentation and quiz satisfies this internal training requirement.
