Project Update

Project Complete

Project Description

This project will involve the replacement of pavement, city utilities, curb and gutter, and sidewalk on West Wilson Street from Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. to South Henry Street.

Project Schedule

March 12 - July 6 2018

Public Information Meetings

Counter-flow Test

At the Pedestrian, Bicycle and Motor Vehicle Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 25, it was decided that the City would not proceed with a test of the counter-flow bike lane on Wilson St. There will no longer be a discussion of the test at the Board of Public Works meeting on May 3.

Proposed Project Approval

The City will be presenting a proposed plan to the Board of Public Works on Wednesday, May 17 at 4:30 PM. This proposed plan will include reconstructing W. Wilson St. at a 40 ft. width (same as existing). Following the project, W. Wilson St. will have the existing lane configuration (2 travel lanes and 2 parking lanes), but the proposed street width will maintain flexibility for potential future bike accommodations.

The project proposal will also go to the Common Council for final approval on Tuesday, June 6.
