Network Redesign Approved
Metro Team,
Last night the Common Council adopted the Network Redesign plan, as had been amended by the Transportation Planning and Policy Board. The service map is attached. This has been a monumental effort that will result in more direct, more frequent, and less confusing service that I am confident will benefit the vast majority of the City. I also think it will benefit our staff by simplifying and consolidating our system. The new system will also be far less dependent upon timed transfers and in most cases have more recovery time, so it will be more resilient and better handle disruptions.
Mike, Sean, Mick, Tim, Jessy, Poorna, Delfina, and countless others who have made contributions to this project deserve a huge thank you. I am proud of our team. This has been nearly three years in the making.
We plan to implement these changes in the Summer of 2023, but there's a lot of work to be done between now and then - we will continue to need your help. We'll be building out detailed schedules next, and I hope you all engage in that process.
