A resolution is being introduced Tuesday, February 22 to the Madison Common Council to award a comprehensive technology contract to Clever Devices. 

Clever is currently deployed in a number of major cities including Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit, Long Island, Jacksonville, Oakland.

Clever will be awarded an up to 7-year agreement to overhaul Metro's technology infrastructure including information technology, communications, onboard equipment, central system, garage management, paratransit and vehicle & facility maintenance systems.

The following are the major Metro systems being revamped with this new agreement:

  • Onboard Hardware (revenue and non-revenue fleet),
  • Central Software (CAD/AVL, Fixed Route Scheduling, Workforce Management, etc.),
  • Paratransit Technologies (Dispatch Management, Scheduling Interface, Mobile Device Software, etc .),
  • Garage Management Software and Hardware (Maintenance Management, Asset Inventory & Condition, Fuel Management System, etc.); 

Kick-off and project planning is expected to begin in March.

Metro also has another RFP currently out on the street to update its fare collection equipment.
