Hi Metro team,

With the current increase in COVID cases, we should start taking some extra precautions. Fortunately this new Omicron variant seems to not have some of the most serious outcomes, especially for vaccinated and boostered folks, but I can tell you from personal experience that it's still unpleasant and can sideline you for a week or so.

Booster Shots

If you haven’t received a booster vaccine yet, I encourage everyone to do so. Everyone is eligible to receive 30 minutes of paid time to do this. Check in with your supervisor about how to get this included on your timesheet.

Public Health of Madison Dane County is advising that even if you are vaccinated, it’s still important to get a booster shot as soon as possible once you are eligible. The vaccine is the best tool we have to fight COVID, even Omicron. More about the importance of boosters is at this link:

KN95 Masks

More KN95 masks are being ordered and will be available soon in Dispatch. We will also have a supply available soon in the 1245 office building. These can provide some additional protection as compared to a simple cloth mask.

I appreciate everyone’s continued efforts in managing through this seemingly never ending pandemic. I know that it's exhausting but I really hope we will see the other side of this sometime in 2022.
