Death Cafe

At a Death Café people, often strangers, gather to eat a snack, drink tea or coffee and discuss death. It is a directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is not a grief support group or a counseling session. Interested? Death Cafés have spread quickly across Europe, North America and Australasia. Since 2011 there have been 13,972 Death Cafés in 81 countries. Please register.

 

Gay, Gray & Beyond

2nd and 4th Thursdays, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
GG&B is a discussion group for those fortunate enough to have arrived, that is, for those who know the obstacles, but also recognize that there have been joys. Those who look beyond the closet. Spanish Conversation

Wednesdays, 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Do you want to practice your Spanish? Our group meets every week to chat in Spanish. Come when you can. There are no attendance requirements. All levels welcome. Spanish Conversation meets at the Senior Center the first Wednesday of every month. They meet via Zoom the other weeks. Email the Senior Center for a Zoom invite.
 

Red Hat Mamas

Last Tuesday of the Month, 11:00 - 2:00 pm

This is MSC’s informal version of the Red Hat Society. We meet once a month for camaraderie at the Madison Senior Center, and we always try to wear red. Most people bring a lunch or register to receive a meal at the congregate meal seat operated by NewBridge. After lunch we plan an activity or just socialize. In between meetings, we plan get together’s for birthdays, movies or local events. This free (and fun) group is open anyone age 55+. You are responsible for your own meal and activity fees when we go out.

 

Downtown Veteran Social

Tuesdays, 10:00 – 11:15 am

Madison Veteran’s Peer Support Program brings Veterans together to help build comradery and reduce isolation. Come socialize with other Veterans, learn about what your community has to offer, and meet new people. Veterans age 55 and up. Male, female, gender fluid. Socials are open to all Veterans and to their family members and supporters in the community. Bridge Belles

Wednesdays, 9:00 - 11:00 August 16, 23, 30 and Sept 6
Mondays, 9:00 - 11:00 am Starting September 11

1-3 tables of women improving their duplicate bridge skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Working knowledge of Bridge needed. If interested, email Laura Hunt for more information.

Billiards / Pool

Bring a couple of friends along to shoot some pool. Open when other events aren't scheduled in the lounge area. Building hours are 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.


Table Tennis

Meet friends and find challenging partners. All levels welcome.


Wii Bowling

Gather around for some friendly competition. A great way to get a little exercise and meet other people.  


BINGO

Wednesdays, 10:15 – 11:15 am

NewBridge is offering BINGO on Wednesdays before lunch. Each BINGO card costs 50 cents (maximum of two cards). You can play for the entire hour with that card. If you get a BINGO, then you win $1.00. Any remaining money in the kitty at the end, goes to the first person(s) to get a “black out.” Each week there will also be a raffle. Participation in the raffle is free.
