Voter Turnout Increases on Campus
Voter turnout for campus polling locations took a significant leap in February 2017.
The Red Gym (Ward 58), for instance, counted 121 votes in 2017, compared to just 19 in 2015 and 20 in 2013. Frank Holt Center (Ward 59) counted 143 votes in 2017, compared to just 31 in 2015 and 22 in 2013. These increases in voter turnout are indicative of students’ interest in civic engagement, even in state and local elections.
The Spring Election is Tuesday, April 4. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
