In the month of September, 5,250 City of Madison residents registered to vote.  A total of 13,157 City of Madison residents have registered to vote so far in 2014.
 
For comparison, 4,010 Madison residents registered to vote in September 2010, including Election Day registrations for the Fall Primary.  A total of 6,893 Madison residents registered to vote between January 1, 2010, and October 3, 2010.
 
Voter registration remains open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15.  One of the most convenient places to register to vote is at any Madison Public Library.  City of Madison librarians are among the 972 individuals deputized to register voters in the City of Madison. 
 
Voters wishing to register by mail can begin the registration process online at https://MyVote.wi.gov.
 
All voter registrations must be accompanied by proof of address, which could be any one of the following types of documents showing the voter’s current name and current address:
 

  • Utility bill issued in the last 90 days
  • Bank or credit union statement
  • Wisconsin driver license/ID
  • Government document/check
  • Paycheck

 
After registration closes on October 15, voters may register in the Clerk’s Office with proof of address through Friday, October 31.  Voters may also register at the polls on Election Day with proof of address.
