The City of Madison has issued 8,339 absentee ballots as of noon on Thursday, October 23. 

The City Clerk’s Office has issued 2,420 absentee ballots to voters at the counter so far: 709 on Monday, 715 on Tuesday, 734 on Wednesday and 262 so far today.  Voters have been able to cast an absentee ballot within minutes of entering the City-County Building, even during the lunch hour.
 
Photo ID is not be required for the November election.  Voter registration and absentee voting are available in the City Clerk’s Office weekdays, October 20-31, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For comparison, the City Clerk’s Office issued 12,121 absentee ballots for the November 2010 election, including 5,550 absentee ballots issued to voters at the counter.
