The City of Madison has issued 6,544 absentee ballots as of noon on Tuesday, October 21. 

The City Clerk’s Office issued 709 absentee ballots to voters at the counter on Monday, the first day of in-person absentee voting.  The line of voters in the Clerk’s Office has been relatively short compared to previous years.
 
 Voters may cast an absentee ballot and, if necessary, register to vote in the City Clerk’s Office weekdays, October 20-31, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Photo ID is not be required for the November election.

For comparison, the City Clerk’s Office issued 12,121 absentee ballots for the November 2010 election, including 5,550 absentee ballots issued to voters at the counter.
