The outcome of Tuesday's mock election on the UW-Madison campus may change if provisional voters follow-up with the City Clerk's Office by 4 p.m. Friday.

Seventy-two ballots were counted on Tuesday. Seven ballots, including Bucky Badger's ballot, remain uncounted and sealed in provisional ballot envelopes.

Tuesday's unofficial election results for favorite Babcock Hall ice cream flavor showed 17 votes for Blue Moon and 14 votes for Union Utopia. The winner of this race is unclear because seven provisional ballots may or may not be counted.

Provisional voters have until 4 p.m. the Friday after an election to provide the Clerk's Office with their identification. When certifying election results, the Board of Canvassers counts provisional ballots only for the voters who followed through with the Clerk's Office by the 4 p.m. Friday deadline.

The City Clerk's Office strongly encourages voters to verify that they have proper identification so they do not become provisional voters in 2012.

The law is very specific about the forms of ID that can be used for voting purposes:
• Wisconsin driver's license expiring no earlier than 11/2/10
• Wisconsin DOT-issued photo ID card expiring no earlier than 11/2/10
• U.S. passport expiring no earlier than 11/2/10
• Military ID card expiring no earlier than 11/2/10
• Certificate of naturalization issued within last 2 years
• Unexpired Wisconsin driver's license or state ID receipt
• ID card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in Wisconsin
• Unexpired ID issued by a Wisconsin accredited university or college-must contain issuance date, student signature, and expiration date within 2 years of issuance-along with proof of current enrollment
