The City of Madison has issued more absentee ballots for the November 4 election than it issued for the November 2010 election.  As of noon on Wednesday, October 29, the city had issued 12,277 absentee ballots for the November election.

The City of Madison has seen more in-person absentee voters for this election than in 2010.  The City Clerk’s Office has issued 5,687 absentee ballots to voters at the counter: 332 so far today, 905 on Tuesday, 817 on Monday, 830 last Friday, 645 last Thursday, 734 last Wednesday, 715 last Tuesday, and 709 last Monday.
 
Photo ID is not required for the November election.  Voter registration and absentee voting are available in the City Clerk’s Office this Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Voter lines have been very short, even over the lunch hour.

For comparison, the City Clerk’s Office issued 12,121 absentee ballots for the November 2010 election, including 5,550 absentee ballots issued to voters at the counter.
