Voters are invited try out their new ballot tabulator, the intElect DS200, at eight Madison Public Library locations during the week of January 6-12.

The new tabulators and demonstration ballots will be available at the Central, Alicia Ashman, Goodman South Madison, Hawthorne, Lakeview, Meadowridge, Pinney and Sequoya Libraries during normal library hours.  Addresses are available at http://www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/locations.

Votes cast on the demonstration ballots are for best automobile manufacturer, best vocal artist, best ice cream flavor, three-day weekends, and pay increases.

Voters will no longer complete broken arrows to cast their votes.  Instead, voters will mark their ballots by filling in ovals.

Once a voter has inserted a ballot into the tabulator, he or she should wait for “Thank you for voting!” to appear on the screen.  The “Thank you for voting!” message is confirmation that the ballot has been counted.

While at the library, Madison residents who have moved since the last election are encouraged to update their voter registrations.  All City of Madison librarians are deputized to register voters.
