The City of Madison has issued 10,153 absentee ballots as of noon on Monday, October 27.

The City Clerk’s Office has issued 3,087 absentee ballots to voters at the counter: 289 so far today, 830 last Friday, 645 last Thursday, 734 last Wednesday, 715 last Tuesday, and 709 last Monday.
 
These City of Madison statistics appear to be setting daily records for a non-presidential election.  The office’s busiest day for in-person absentee voting in 2010 was the Friday before the election, with 683 absentee ballots issued at the counter.
 
Photo ID is not required for the November election.  Voter registration and absentee voting are available in the City Clerk’s Office this Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For comparison, the City Clerk’s Office issued 12,121 absentee ballots for the November 2010 election, including 5,550 absentee ballots issued to voters at the counter.
