The City of Madison has issued 7,291 absentee ballots as of noon on Wednesday, October 22. 

The City Clerk’s Office has issued 1,716 absentee ballots to voters at the counter so far: 709 on Monday, 715 on Tuesday, and 292 so far today.  Voters have been able to cast an absentee ballot within minutes of entering the City-County Building.
 
Voters may cast an absentee ballot and, if necessary, register to vote in the City Clerk’s Office weekdays, October 20-31, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Photo ID is not be required for the November election.

For comparison, the City Clerk’s Office issued 12,121 absentee ballots for the November 2010 election, including 5,550 absentee ballots issued to voters at the counter.
