The City of Madison and Dane County have released a voter ID public service announcement featuring retired City of Madison Chief of Police Noble Wray.

The ads will run on local television channels and on cable to encourage eligible voters who do not have a Wisconsin ID to get to the Department of Motor Vehicles as soon as possible.  Voters who do not have certified documents to prove U.S. citizenship, name and date of birth, or a legal name change can petition the DMV to verify their information with state agencies, but this process can take a minimum of ten days.
