The Streets Division has resumed large item collection on the west side and will start up collection on the east side on Wednesday March 12th. Large item collection was suspended in early February because crews were needed for snow and ice operations. Large items are things that will not fit inside the tan refuse carts including furniture, appliances, carpet and tires.
The Streets Division still has two more days of snow removal operations on the east side so crews normally assigned to large items will be doing those operations on Monday and Tuesday before returning to the regular duties on the 12th. West side crews have completed snow removal operations so large item collection on the west side resumed on March 6th.
Large items can also be brought to the City's drop off sites at 1501 W. Badger Rd and 4602 Sycamore Av. The sites are currently open winter hours M-F from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Use of these sites is limited to City of Madison residents and property owners only.
Residents can get complete information about all of the Streets Division's solid waste services, including large items at www.cityofmadison.com/streets.
