The Madison Arts Commission is proud to announce that Janis Nussbaum Senungetuk will receive the 2007 Signature Grant Award for her upcoming solo exhibition, Bold Visions.

Bold Visions will contain ten new works of floral/garden images, using natural light, high contrast, and intense color. These works will be specifically created to be optically accessible to a visually impaired audience. Nussbaum Senungetuk's prints retain the formal concerns of photography, while conveying the quality of light and color that has been altered because of her own visual impairment. The exhibition will be on display at the Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired, during their December 2007 Open House. Senungetuk chose this venue because this is where she has "encountered a dedicated group of people who have chosen to support the use of creativity to overcome the challenges faced by living with vision loss and impairment."
