Get Rid of Unwanted Items on the Stuff Exchange

Now that you received the latest version of your favorite gadget for Christmas, what can you do with the old one that works just fine? Why don't you post it on the Madison Stuff Exchange?

"The Madison Stuff Exchange is the perfect place to find someone who can use your unwanted items," Madison recycling coordinator George Dreckmann said. "You can sell, trade, or give away on the Internet by using the Stuff Exchange. It's quick, easy, and it's free."

Anyone who lives and works in Dane County can use the Madison Stuff Exchange. You can access the site at www.madisonstuffexchange.com. It is free to register and use the Exchange. If you are going to sell an item, you cannot charge more than $99 for it.

The Madison Stuff Exchange has a Record Year

2006 was a record year for the Madison Stuff Exchange. Exchange users made over 4,700 successful exchanges that kept 437,409 pounds of material out of the landfill. That saved taxpayers $6,125 in landfill fees.

"We are very pleased with the public's response to the Exchange," Dreckmann said. "We are looking forward to another great year in 2006."
