This year’s first Concert on the Square will take place on Wednesday, June 27.  There are six concerts this year—each Wednesday thru August 1.  For each concert, the following streets will close at 3:00 p.m. and reopen at midnight:

  • Main St between S Carroll St and S Pinckney St
  • Pinckney Street between E Main St and E Mifflin St
  • E Washington Ave between Pinckney St and Webster St

In addition to the street closures for the concert, S Pinckney St is currently closed between E Doty St and E Wilson St for the Judge Doyle Square project.  W Wilson St is reduced to one lane of traffic for street reconstruction thru mid-July.  See the attached map for street closure information.

Metro Transit will be detoured to the Outer Loop on each Wednesday afternoon, starting at 3:00 p.m.:

Each concert begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends around 8:45 p.m.

Due to the combination of the added Concert on the Square traffic and street closures, drivers should plan for travel delays in the Capitol area on Wednesday afternoons.

Rain date:  if any concert is rained out on Wednesday, it will occur the following day with the same schedule.  The rain determination will be made at 3:00 p.m. on the day of the concert.
