Monday marks the start of National Drinking Water Week, and we’ll be celebrating with students from across Madison. For the 2nd year in a row, the “Got Water” project has helped three Madison elementary schools install new water bottle refilling stations for students and staff. The three schools (Allis, Lindbergh and Lake View) were chosen by the Healthy Kids Collaborative of Dane County to receive the stations, which were funded by Madison Water Utility and installed by the Madison Metropolitan School District.

The Collaborative and its community partners American Family Children's Hospital, YMCA of Dane County and Madison Water Utility will also make sure each and every child and staff member can use the stations by handing out more than 1,200 new water bottles.

Next week, community groups, teachers, staff and students will come together at Allis and Lindbergh for “Got Water” celebrations featuring Madison Water Utility’s Water Wagon. Friday’s event will also feature a special garden-themed activity with REAP Food Group. A third celebration will be held at Lake View in mid-May.
