The Art of Levi Williams, a self-taught Madison artist, will be on view in the Madison Municipal Building from May 1 through June 30, 2008. For Levi L. Williams, painting was a hobby. Working in a variety of media, watercolor, oil pastels, pencil and acrylics as well with a variety of themes, his work demonstrates his diverse talents. Levi always said, "I like the challenge of drawing people, getting the correct proportions while catching the character of the subject in his or her facial expression." His goal was to make a social statement from an artistic point of view. "I'd like to do something abstract on the Harmony of Racial Relationships. Whatever I do, if it has to do with art, I will enjoy it."

The Madison Arts Commission's ARTspace program is open to all Madison visual artists who would like to showcase original two-dimensional works in highly utilized city spaces.
