There will be no refuse or recycling collection on Monday May 26th because of the Memorial Day holiday. Madison residents who normally have their material collected on Monday should place their material out for collection on Tuesday May 27th. Refuse and recycling will also be collected in Tuesday's districts on the 27th.

"Because of the double collection day it is important that residents get their material out early on Tuesday," said Madison Recycling Coordinator George Dreckmann. "East side residents should have their refuse and recycling out at the curb by 6 a.m. and west side residents by 7 a.m."

Because of the holiday, large item collection will be limited the week of the 26th. Residents are asked to hold on to their large items until the following week if possible.

The City of Madison yard waste drop off sites will be open over the holiday weekend. The sites will be open on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd. on the south side, 402 South Point Rd. on the west side and 4602 Sycamore Av. on the east side.
