MPD Invites Public To Celebrate

The Madison Police Department (MPD) would like to invite you to join us from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 to celebrate NATIONAL NIGHT OUT.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is an opportunity for friends, neighbors and businesses to gather to learn more about personal safety and property security as well as build bridges between citizens, businesses and local law enforcement. The MPD will provide information on home security, personal safety, and how to organize a Neighborhood Watch.

You will be able to chat with MPD Police Officer Henry Wilson and his K-9 partner, Ivan as well as visit with mounted officers. For those interested in bigger horsepower, our motorcycle officers will be present and you can check out a squad car too. If you like really big horsepower, the rig from Fire Station #10 is scheduled to appear as well.

Arthur Ross, City of Madison Bike/Pedestrian coordinator, will conduct a bike rodeo from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. The rodeo will assess your bicycle riding skills.

And what is a celebration without food, fun and prizes?
There will be face painting (sponsored by Baer Insurance), hot dogs, chips and soda (sponsored by the Madison Mallard's) and door prizes (sponsored by Target).

The Madison Police Department is grateful to the businesses and individuals who worked to bring NATIONAL NIGHT OUT to our community and we encourage you to thank our sponsors and partners:
