Madison Public Library’s Meadowridge Library will close at 5 pm on Saturday, August 30 in order to relocate to new space at 5726 Raymond Road.
 
The library will remain closed for two weeks while the library’s collection, staff and services relocate to a new space, several doors down from the library’s current location in the Meadowood Shopping Center.  The new library will reopen at 10 am on Monday, September 15.  The new library will be open Monday-Friday 10 am – 8 pm and Saturday 9 am – 5 pm, and the library’s phone number will remain 608-288-6160.
 
Customers are encouraged to contact library staff before August 30 for assistance about their holds.  All items still on the hold shelf at the Meadowridge Library on August 30 or in transit during the closed period will be transferred to the Sequoya Library at 4340 Tokay Blvd.  Items checked out at the Meadowridge Library will not be due while the library is closed.  The book drop at the old library will close on August 30 at 5 pm and the book drop at the new library will open at 5 pm on August 30, and remain open to collect items while the library is closed.  Library items may also be returned at any other Madison Public Library location.
 
The library’s move is part of a three-part renovation that, when complete, will house a new library, a new neighborhood center, and a shared meeting room and community kitchen space between the two organizations. The expansion of the Meadowridge Library and Meadowood Neighborhood Center offers both agencies the opportunity to increase their own spaces and provide shared spaces for for community programs, events, and meetings. The expansion and co-location will allow the library and the neighborhood center the opportunity to develop collaborative programs that will benefit both organizations and better serve neighborhood residents.
