On Sunday, April 17, 2016 join the Friends of Urban Nature (FUN) at the Bird & Nature Festival at Warner Park (2930 N. Sherman Ave.) from 1:00 – 4:00pm. This free, family-friendly event celebrates Madison Bird City, Arbor Day and Earth Day with an exploration in nature. A special presentation by Hoo’s Who at 1:00pm features a live Snowy Owl and Peregrine Falcon. Kids and kids-alike will love the hands-on activities, hayrides, tree planting, bird bingo, and live music, plus face-painting and a bouncy house. Food and beverages will be available for purchase onsite.

Earth Day Challenge continues at various Madison Parks throughout the city on Saturday, April 23 from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Volunteers celebrate Earth Day by picking up trash, raking, and overall cleaning and beautifying local parks. Madison Parks supplies trash bags, gloves and rakes at over 15 parks as part of the challenge. To sign up or find out more information, email.

 
The City of Madison is proud to be designated as a Tree City USA for the 27th year. In celebration, the City of Madison, Madison Parks staff including the Forestry Section plant trees with elementary students from around Madison.
