Guidelines, Applications, Workshops, and Drop-in Assistance

The City of Madison distributes funds to Madison artists and non-profit organizations through the Madison Arts Commission's annual grant programs. The updated guidelines and applications for 2015 are now published on MAC’s website (www.cityofmadison.com/mac).
THE DEADLINE TO APPLY IS BEING EXTENDED TO WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25, 2015 AT NOON.
 
Project Grants provide up to $3,000 for performances, exhibitions or events that enrich the cultural lives of Madison citizens. ArtWORKS! Grants provide up to $3,000 for extracurricular arts-based educational programming, and Summer Concert Grants provide up to $3,000 for outdoor summer concert series.
 
MADISON ARTS COMMISSION GRANT WRITING WORKSHOPS (Free -- Registration Required)
 
Thinking of applying? The Madison Arts Commission invites you to attend a MAC Grant Writing Workshop led by the former chair of the commission, Leslee Nelson, and Program Administrator, Karin Wolf. There is no cost for this one-hour workshop intended to give you a brief introduction to MAC’s grants process, review our updated guidelines, answer your grant related questions, and describe the panel review of your application (workshop does not cover the BLINK program). 
 
Workshop Dates:
 

  • Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 7:00 P.M.
  • Friday, February 13, 2015 at Noon

 
Location: Room 260 of the Madison Municipal Building, 215 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
 
All are invited, but new applicants are especially encouraged to attend. 
 
Arts Grants Workshop Space is limited, email Karin Wolf, Arts Program Administrator to register (kwolf@cityofmadison.com). To register include your name or name of your organization, title, email address and phone number.
 
MADISON ARTS COMMISSION GRANT ASSISTANCE CLINIC (Free Drop-in)
 
MAC also offers volunteer one-on-one assistance with the applications in free clinics held at the Madison Central Library. Drop in to ask questions about MAC Grants and receive personal assistance.
 
Drop-in Assistance Dates:
 

  • Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 5pm-8pm
  • Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 5pm-8pm
  • Saturday, March 7,  2015 from 11am-1pm
  • Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 5pm-8pm
  • Friday, March 13, 2015 from 11am-1pm

 
Location: All Grant Clinics will be held in the first floor conference room of the Madison Central Library, 201 W. Mifflin.
