The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and Public Health Madison & Dane County are pleased to announce that four area clinics have been given a “BigShot” award for their efforts to vaccinate children against diseases. The recognition coincides with National Infant Immunization Awareness Week and is given to those health care providers who have more than 90% of two year olds up-to-date on their recommended immunizations, according to data from the Wisconsin Immunization Registry. 

Dane County clinics recognized include UW Health Stoughton Pediatrics, SSM Health Dean Medical Group-Oregon Clinic, Unity Point Health-Meriter McKee Clinic Pediatrics, and UnityPoint Health-Meriter Monona Clinic. 

“We congratulate and celebrate the achievements of these clinics ,” said Janel Heinrich, Director of Public Health Madison & Dane County.  “Their exceptional work in providing and advocating for immunizations improves our County’s immunization rates and keeps our children and community healthy.”

The Wisconsin Immunization Program webpage shows parents what vaccinations their child needs and at what age. Parents can also keep track of what shots their children have had, and shots they may still need, through the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.
