East Johnson Street is currently closed in both directions between North Baldwin Street and Fordem Avenue due to flooding at Tenney Park. (see attached map)

The flooding is due to rising lake water levels as water from the recent heavy rains moves into the lakes.

East Johnson Street will be closed until water recedes, which could be anywhere from one to two weeks. The lake levels are expected to crest around Wednesday, August 29. However, that estimate can and will change if the watershed receives more rain.

Drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes.

Severe travel delays are expected during the morning and afternoon rush hours.
