Instead of two collection opportunities, there will be three

The Streets Division will conduct one extra official round of yard waste collection this spring.

The very cold and snowy start to spring has certainly caused  delays in getting material to the curb, so crews will perform one additional round this season.  Rather than the typical two collection opportunities, this year residents will receive three official collection opportunities.

After completion of the third collection round, curbside yard waste pickup will end until the start of the fall leaf collection season.

Residents who wish to utilize the curbside collection of yard waste should go to the yard waste website (www.cityofmadison.com/yardwaste) and click on the Pickup Schedule button to learn when to place material to the curb.  The Pickup Schedule map is updated daily during the official collection season, and will remain updated during the extra collection round of yard waste.

On the yard waste website, residents can learn how they should place material out for pickup. These guidelines can also be found on our short YouTube video that explains the yard waste collection process.

Residents can call the yard waste collection hotline at 608-267-2088 to learn when crews may be in an area for collection. The hotline recording is updated once a week and provides residents an estimate of where crews will be working.

Residents can also contact the Streets Division office that services their home for information.  Those who live east of S. Park Street, including the isthmus, should call 608-246-4532.  Residents who live west of S. Park Street should call 608-266-4681.
