Be sure to check the pickup schedule map before you act

The Streets Division will perform one more curbside yard waste collection round. Every resident in Madison will have one final opportunity to have yard waste collected from the curb this spring.

The encore round of yard waste pickup will begin on Monday, May 14.

Much like an encore at a concert, once this round of curbside yard waste collection is complete the show will be over for the spring. And after the encore round is complete, curbside yard waste pickup will not be performed again this year until the start of the autumn leaf collection season.

For the week of May 7, crews will be out collecting yard waste for the current round. The final round will not begin until Monday, May 14.  And starting on May 14, crews will complete one more cycle through the city so everyone gets one more opportunity for curbside yard waste pickup.

Before placing yard waste to the curb for pickup, go to www.cityofmadison.com/yardwaste and click the Pickup Schedule button.

If your neighborhood is marked “Pickup Pending” on the map, toss your bouquets of roses and other encore yard waste onto the terrace (or into a bag) to await collection.

If your neighborhood is marked “Crews Working,” it may be too late to take advantage of the collection round as crews may have already serviced your neighborhood, so residents should instead take the yard waste to a drop-off site.

If your neighborhood is marked “Season Over,” definitely do not place yard waste to the curb, and instead take it to a drop-off site.

Be sure to check the pickup schedule on the website regularly so this final chance for curbside pickup is not missed. The map is updated daily when crews are deployed.

The drop-off sites are located at 1501 W. Badger Rd. on the southwest side, 4602 Sycamore Ave. on the east side, and 402 South Point Rd. on the far west side. Please note that the South Point Rd. site only accepts yard waste. All three sites are open 8:30am to 4:30pm seven days a week, and until 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These hours will remain in effect until Sunday, December 2.
