The Madison City Clerk’s Office will be open for voter registration and in-person absentee voting this Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and this Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Voters must present an acceptable form of photo ID before receiving an absentee ballot. The following types of ID are acceptable under state law:

• Wisconsin driver license expiring after November 6, 2018 (date of the last November election). The address on the ID does not matter for proving identity.
• Wisconsin photo ID issued by the Department of Transportation expiring after November 6, 2018. The address on the ID does not matter for proving identity.
• Unexpired ID issued by a Wisconsin accredited university or college that contains an issuance date, a student signature, and an expiration date within two years of issuance. Card must be accompanied by proof of current enrollment. A UW-Madison Wiscard is not acceptable, but a UW-Madison voter identification card is acceptable. UW-Madison students may obtain a free voter identification card by bringing a valid Wiscard to the Wiscard Office at Union South weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
• U.S. passport (book or card) expiring after November 6, 2018
• Military ID card expiring after November 6, 2018
• Certificate of Naturalization issued within the last two years
• Unexpired Wisconsin driver license or state ID card receipt
• ID card issued by a federally recognized Indian tribe in Wisconsin
• Unexpired Veterans Affairs ID card

In-person absentee voting will be available on the UW campus beginning Sunday, March 29. Union South and Memorial Union will host absentee voting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 29, and from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 30, through Friday, April 3. The Student Activity Center and Health Sciences Learning Center will host absentee voting from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, through Friday, April 3.

Voters may visit https://MyVote.wi.gov to check their voter registration, request an absentee ballot, find out what will be on the ballot, or find their polling location.
