Residents should place brush out by their scheduled set-out day

Streets Division has a goal to have all brush related to the June 13, 2022 storm collected from the curb by Friday, July 8, 2022.

You should place your brush to the curb for collection by the scheduled set-out day for your neighborhood. The brush set-out schedule is available at www.cityofmadison.com/BrushCollection.

Collection crews have been running five to seven behind schedule so far due to the immense volume of brush created by the storm. Since the storm on June 13 until 12:00pm on June 22, 2022, the Streets Division has received over 1,000 tons of brush and the number continues to rise.

In order for Streets to catch-up with the posted collection schedule and complete the brush collection from the storm by July 8, 2022, additional staffing will be reassigned to brush collection duties and crews will begin working longer hours.

If you have storm-related brush on your terrace and it is has not been collected by July 8, 2022, residents should contact the Streets Division. You can reach us by phone at 608-246-4532 for east side residents and 608-266-4681 for west side residents. You can also email us at streets@cityofmadison.com.

What is “brush”?
Brush is woody material cut or trimmed from trees, shrubs, and bushes. Collected brush is then turned into wood mulch at the brush processing facility.

Brush does not include bags of yard waste material like weeds, leaves, or grass clippings. Yard waste is processed differently that brush, and it will not be collected by brush collection crews. Yard waste should be delivered to a drop-off site.
