Fire Department

Ladder 7 was dispatched to a location in the small woods off the walking path on the southwest side. The incident was called in by a passerby who noticed smoke in the woods. On location, L7 found that a controlled burn had taken place in the last few days and there had been extension into the wooded portion of the park. Fire crews had been out to this location multiple times. Crews found a smoldering stump and downed log which posed no threat due to the large area surrounding it that had already been burned. L7 doused the log and stump again with a foam/water mixture, and the smoke subsided.
