Turn that cereal box or cardboard box into a lovely art journal! Sharon Maynard, Molly Mitchell, Laura Zimmerman, and Lydia Gantert will show you how to make a simple journal from boxes and material that might have been destined for the trash. If you can use a hole punch, then you can make a journal! Sharon Maynard, BA in arts and entertainment, was inspired by the Facebook group called Junk Journal Junkies, a group that focuses on creating journals from recycled materials. From there on, she fell in love with the idea of making journals from scraps and material that may otherwise land in the trash bin. Check them out and come be inspired by this creative workshop. All ages are welcome. We are an inclusive workshop! Please register to allow us to prepare the amount of materials, however, drop ins are welcome! We will be using thin cardboard (think cereal and granola bar boxes) and encourage patrons to bring extra materials from home if possible. This project is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Institute for Museums and Libraries.
